*Open skate sessions for young girls and women as part of Girls Up To Skate initiative - GUTS Girls Club ($5 entrance, $2,5 for members, equipment available*Girls Up To Skate FUNDED sessions are part of GUTS initiative for girls and women. They are for young girls and women between ages 6-18 and run for 6 weeks in TERM 1, 2026. They were made possible in collaboration with Taranaki Skateboarding Association and Sport Taranaki. They are free of charge and all equipment is provided! Spaces are limited.

LITTLE ONES I
Ages: 4-5, All genders
When: Wednesdays, 3:45 - 4:30 pm
Duration: 45 minutesFor complete beginners, this class introduces young skaters to the basics of skateboarding through fun and safe play. Ideal for kids who are new to skateboarding or not yet confident on the board.

LITTLE ONES II
Ages: 4-6, All genders
When: Wednesdays, 4:30 - 5:15 pm
Duration: 45 minutesFor young skaters with some experience on the board, this class helps build confidence and skill. Perfect for kids who are familiar with the basics and are ready to practice more advanced moves in a playful setting.

ADULT NEWBIES + BEGINNERS
Ages: 15+, Female only
When: Mondays, 5:00 - 6:00 pm
Duration: 1 hourFor girls and women skaters who are new to skateboarding. NEWBIE: First-timers, starting from zero. BEGINNER: Able to stand and push but not fully confident. Build skills in a fun setting.

ADULT STEP UP
Ages: 15+, Female only
When: Mondays, 6:00 - 7:00 pm
Duration: 1 hourFor girls and women who are comfortable with the basics of skateboarding and ready to level up. STEP UP: Can push, pump, and kick turn, but is eager to learn new tricks or refine existing ones. This class focuses on mastering skills and building confidence in a supportive environment.

YOUNG INTERMEDIATES
Ages: 6-10, All genders
When: Thursdays 4:15 - 5:00 PM
Duration: 45 minutesFor younger kiddos, who have basics down and need help or a confidence boost and are still in more playful mode! Follow up class from Little Ones II. They can stand on the board and push/pump/tictac but are maybe still not fully confident. This class is perfect for learning, advancing and solidifying basic skills and building confidence through play.

GIRLS UP TO SKATE
BEGINNERS + INTERMEDIATES
Ages: 7-14, Female only
When: Mon, 4:15 - 5:00 pm / Wed, 5:15-6:15 / Thu, 3:30-4:15
Duration: 45min-1hGirls Up To Skate FUNDED sessions are part of GUTS initiative for girls and women. They are for young girls and women between ages 6-18 of all levels. the next level.

KIDS INTERMEDIATES
Ages: 7-14, All genders
When: Tuesdays, 4:30 - 5:15 PM
Duration: 45 minutesFor skaters who are familiar with the basics of skateboarding. Can stand on the board and push, pump, tic-tac, and are confident on the board. Build confidence and start learning key techniques and tricks.

NEWBIES + BEGINNERS
Ages: 7-114, All genders
When: Tuesdays, 3:45 - 4:30 PM (8-14) & Thursdays, 5:00 - 5:45 PM (7-12)
Duration: 45 minutesFor first-timers and with no experience and those who have some basics down and need help or a confidence boost. Building confidence and getting to know the joys of skateboarding in a supportive, safe and fun environment. NEWBIE: First timer, zero or little experience. BEGINNER: Can stand on the board and push but not fully confident.
GUTS, Get Up to Skateboard, is a New Plymouth-based initiative and skateboarding school that offers structured indoor and outdoor skateboarding lessons for young and adult enthusiasts.Fostering skills and confidence and catering to all levels and all genders, GUTS' aim is to provide a safe, encouraging environment that above all promotes having fun and learning new skills through skateboarding.Skateboarding is a play and its playground is infinite.
Let’s be honest, skateboarding requires guts and it can be a tough cookie to crack. And all we need sometimes is a little bit of help to get us started. GUTS is here to help you find your guts, skills and gain the confidence.GUTS is also here for you to find skate pals that will help you push, roll and play. Having a supportive environment makes it easier to overcome fears and push boundaries and it is way more fun to skate and play with friends anyways.Does not matter whether you are an adult, a kid, or both, all ages 4+, all genders and all skill
levels are welcome to join the play._We also offer female only classes and open sessions for female adults and young girls as a part of initiative
Girls Up To Skate Club - GUTS Girls Club.GUTS - Girls Up To Skate initiative is here to support and offer space for all of you young girls and adult females to be able to build your confidence and resilience in a safe and supportive environment allowing you to discover the joys of skateboarding at your own pace with fellow female skaters.Once you get your confidence and resilience up, there is less limits for you to go out there and play._Skateboards, helmets and safety gear can be provided as well. Safety first!
SKATE & CREATE WORKSHOPS
SKATE & CREATE Summer Camp 2026January 19-21 | Ōakura | 8:30am–3:00pmWhat is Skate & Create?A 3-day holiday camp combining skateboarding, creative workshops and outdoor exploration.Mornings focus on skateboarding, with kids split into small groups based on ability and age. Afternoons are slower-paced and creative, including art-making workshops, beach walk/nature time, and collaborative projects. Every day we finish with free skateboarding to practice what we were working on the day or play skate games.The camp is designed to support confidence, creativity, and connection, not competition. It is suitable for all skateboarding levels, including first-timers. Groups are capped at 6 kids per instructor and we focus on skill-building, safety, and fun and playfulness while exploring how to be creative on and off the board.Pricing$295 for all 3 days.
